"Viva Cuba (8 days)" (tour proposal)

For those wishing to explore the main highlights of Cuba on their own within a few days, this is exactly the right trip! Experience the incredible atmosphere of old Havana, discover the natural spectacle of the karst hills in Viñales and the Sierra Escambray, follow the paths of exciting revolutionary history in Santa Clara and stroll through the cobbled streets of the beautiful colonial town of Trinidad.

All our Drive Cuba programs are only tour proposals. You can create your tour according to your own wishes and needs.

Travel Details

Program: 

Day 1: Arrival in Havana
Meet and greet at Havana or Varadero airport. Transfer to hotel in Old Havana.
Accommodation: Casa Particular in Havana HAV

Day 2: Havana
Morning: city tour with an English speaking guide.
Visit the Capitolio (when closed then a visit to the Palcio Captains Generales). Then you go through the renovated shopping street Calle Obispo to the Palace of the General Captains. You will see the Hemingway's favourite bar "La Bodeguita del Medio" and Hemingway's work in the hotel Ambos Mundos, Free time on the cathedral square, the Plaza de Armas and the arts and crafts market.
Lunch with a drink in the afternoon: Visit rum and tobacco factory. When the tobacco factory is closed, visit the Hostal del Habano with sample costs .

Day 3: Havana
Pick up of car rental in Havana City. The guide helps.
Warning: The lease expires on the name of the applicant. Only the applicant is entitled to drop off the car only the applicant can return the car. The applicant must present a valid driver's license when taking over the car.
From here you go without guide.
To get used to the Cuban traffic conditions, we recommend that you first take a ride through the Havana of the 50's to the Revolution Square, Malecon, the legendary Hotel Nacional and the Miramar residential area with its magnificent mansions along the Quinta Avenida.
Finally, we recommend a visit to the fortress El Morro over the harbor of Havana on the program.

Day 4: Havana - Pinar del Rio - Vinales Soroa
Early in the morning you hit the "Tobacco Road" to Pinar del Rio. Visit to a cigar or liqueur factory (only Mon - Fri). Continue through the Mogote Valley with its famous limestone cliffs and the picturesque village of Viñales, where time seems to stand still. Visit a Veguero (tobacco farmer) and visit the "Prehistoric Wall" - rock paintings. Take a boat ride on an underground river through the Indian Cave

Day 5: Soroa - Guama - "Bay of Pigs" - Cienfuegos
Drive towards central Cuba. On the way stop in Guamá on the Zapata Peninsula. Boat ride through the mangroves to the "Taino village" on the Laguna del Tesoro along the historic "Bay of Pigs" in the coined by French colonial architecture Cienfuegos. Walk on the Plaza Mayor with the Teatro Terry, where Caruso sang and the peninsula of Punta Gorda with the "Moorish" Palacio del Valle and their typical wooden houses.

Day 6: Cienfuegos - Valley of the sugar mills - Trinida
In the morning, go along the panoramic coastal road to Trinidad - UNESCO World Heritage Site with its unique colonial architecture. City tour with the Plaza Mayor, surrounded by splendid mansions. In the afternoon drive to the valley of the sugar mills. Visit the hacienda of the sugar barons Iznaga with the "Slave Tower". In the evening time to walk through the romantic musical nightlife with live music and dancing very close to the people, such as Casa de la Musica or Casa de la Trova.

Day 7: Trinidad - Sierra Escambray - Trinidad
Early morning drive beautiful scenic route past coffee plantations up to the Topes de Collantes in the Escambray Sierra. Companies. Hike the Guayanara trail along the Rio Melodioso by an impressive natural world with endemic flora and fauna Heading opportunity for a refreshing swim under waterfalls in natural pools. Afterwards drive down to Playa Ancon on the Caribbean Sea and free time.

Day 8: Trinidad - Santa Clara - Havana
Morning in the historic Santa Clara, where Che Guevara achieved his greatest victory and his last resting place. Visit to the Che Guevara mausoleum (if open) and the imposing monument.
Around midday on to Varadero or Havana.
Afternoon: return of the car in Havana

Take-Over of the car:

1. Directly after arrival at the airport you can take over your rental car and complete all formalities with our representative.

2. According to prior agreement another possibility of take-over or return is in Havana.

Information About the Car Rental

The suggestions and conditions settled down by the rental companies are related next, they are only the most important and they are of informative character. Cuba4Travel doesn't take the responsibility with the changes or modifications that, without previous notice, introduce the rental companies. The final information is given when signing the contract of the vehicle directly at the rental office.

Main Suggestions and Conditions settled down by the rental companies:

1. to read all the clauses of the contract of the car rental attentively.
2. to demand the revision of the car and their accessories when receiving and droping off the vehicle.
3. he/she doesn't give the key from the car to another person.
4. it is not admitted the use of the car for personal unauthorized in the contract.
5. do not drive under the effects of alcohol . Protect your life and the other´s.
6. it is recommended not to travel at night. Be careful because in the rural areas can be animals in the roads.
7. he/she must be careful with the cyclists on the roads. Protect them.
8. keep the car in safe and illuminated places.
9. he/she doesn't leave belongings of value in the car when they are outside of it.
10.only acquire the necessary fuel in the servicentros (gas stations) CUPET and Oro Negro.
11.do not exceed the quantity of passengers settled down for the car.
12.do not drivee when sleepy.
13.we recommend the use of the seat belt, it is obligatory.

Lodging:
In the modality, Cuba Route that assures the confirmation of the reservation, you should select a certain program ahead of time with a foreseen route (West-Center-East) that guarantees the security of the lodging and to enjoy without concerns the journey through the Island. When arriving to the reception of the hotels that includes the journey according to the suitable day, he/she will give the BM with the number of confirmation of the reservation of the room.

The travel Cuba4Travel won't make refunds to the clients for concepts of hired services not used in its entirety, neither for the loss of the documents for the lodging and for the rent of the car.

In case of a booking the information of nationality, passport number and date of birth are required.

must be exchanged at Havanatur in Havana against tickets.
