Cuba Hotel Categories: In Cuba you can stay over night in several hotels. Bet it in the countryside, in the mountains or in the city, hotels in Cuba are always an experience. Nevertheless you should not be geared to German or European standards, but better subtract one star. Besides the differences are big between the state-owned hotels of the Cuban Islazul Chain and the middel-class (51% state owned) and luxury-hotels. The latter are mostly run by foreign investors and have high standards. Of course, all hotels selected and recommended by Cuba4Travel are all proved and tested.

Located just forty-nine miles west of Havana in the Sierra del Rosario Biosphere Reserve, Hotel Moka is one of the most unique hotels of Cuba. Hotel Islazul Libertad 2*, Santiago de Cuba:
Hotel Islazul Libertad is situated in the historical center of the city of Santiago de Cuba, facing the Plaza de Marte (Marte Square), which served as a parade grounds for military ceremonies and slave auctions during colonial times. Today it is the center of important social and cultural activities. All standard rooms have simple furnishings, small but functional bathrooms, radio, telephone and satellite TV. Only half of the rooms have windows. Room with the window can be requested but can not be guaranteed, subject to availability.
Hotel Las Cuevas 2,5*, Trinidad:
Perched on a hill 1.6km (1 mile) north of (and up above) the old colonial core of Trinidad, this hotel is named for the caves that dot the hillside. Built in the 1950s, the hotel is surprisingly large, featuring rows of concrete bungalow-style rooms, a round pool, and a fantastic underground cave dance club (a short distance from the property). The remodeled rooms are very comfortable, with exposed stone walls and good bathrooms.

The Hotel Villa La Granjita is set in handsome grounds amid groves of Royal palms, about two miles northeast of town, and is a twin image of the Villa Los Caneyes, on the other side of town. Occasional tour groups make use of it, but less so than Los Caneyes, and the upside here is the quietude.
